Like, “C’mon Corgan, you know you have to,” and I still get these tweets once a week, “C’mon, just get off it and go back the original band, you were better with them.” Yeah, OK, I’ll dial the rehab facility and find one of them …

A fan asked Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan about the late great Alice In Chains frontman Layne Staley on his Twitter page, here’s what Billy had to say.

BC: yes, a truly beautiful man. Gifted almost beyond compare. My fave singer of 90s
Corgan attended one of Layne Staley’s final shows with Alice In Chains in June 1996 at Tiger Stadium in Detroit, it was the only time he ever saw the band live with Staley. Billy performed with AIC in 2006 and has always been friendly with the band. AIC seem to be friendly with everybody, from the Pumpkins and Stone Temple Pilots to the Seattle bands.

Here are two quotes from DetroitNews‘ new interview with Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan.
“I think you’ve just gotta be open. I loved the last Guns N’ Roses album, you know what I mean? And unfortunately when they were out touring on that record, I didn’t get a chance to see them. But I would have gone. It doesn’t mean I disrespect or don’t appreciate the classic lineup. It just means that I want to have a musical experience with that artist today. And I think that when other people in my generation reinforce those ideas, of course it makes it more difficult, because it makes me look like I’m being difficult, because I don’t want to reform with people who have driven me up the wall, killed my desire to play music and have sued me. But I’m supposed to get back up on stage so they can relive their dream? They forget about my dream. Which is to be a musician in a band with people who actually want to be there with me. Let’s not forget about that end of the dream.”
“Once we clear the Pumpkins’ first era, then I have about 65 unreleased Zwan songs, I have a ton of unreleased stuff relating to my solo album ‘The Future Embrace,’ and then there’s a ton of ‘Zeitgeist’ demos, probably songs I should have put on the album, that are pretty interesting and well-done. Also I have two unreleased acoustic records, plus an unreleased acoustic soundtrack — three albums worth of acoustic albums from the mid-2000s that are totally unreleased. So I’m hoping to just do everything chronologically.”

PAWS Chicago is the city’s largest No Kill humane organization, focused on implementing solutions to end the killing of homeless pets.
Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell has shot back at Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan in a new interview with ABC News Radio. A few months ago, Corgan said Soundgarden’s reunion was a cash grab.
Cornell told ABC News Radio the following, “When Billy Corgan was completely broke, I got him a movie deal with [director] Cameron Crowe where he made $40,000. He was very happy about that, and he was specifically happy about the $40,000. So next time you see him, tell him owes me my $40,000 back.”

"It's really the end of an era," Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan told Rolling Stone in 1995, shortly after the band released its double-disc, era-defining epic Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. It would be the last album the original Pumpkins lineup – Corgan, guitarist James Iha, bassist D'arcy Wretzky and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin – made as a collective unit, rendering their leader's words even more prophetic.
Nearly two decades after Mellon Collie's release, the Pumpkins are releasing a deluxe re-mastered edition of the LP on December 3rd – complete with 64 bonus tracks and a live DVD – as part of a massive reissue project encompassing all of the band's albums and B-sides from 1991-2000. "In many ways it's beautiful that we were able to make something so grand as kind of a final statement of solvency of that group together," says Corgan. "But that was pretty much it. That was as good as it was going to get for the four of those people together."
- When was the last time you listened to Mellon Collie all the way through?
- Fairly recently. Because I had to approve the mastering. I think when I listen to old records, it puts me back in the atmosphere of what it felt like to make the record and who was there and what the room looked like. It's more a sensory memory. If I go deeper than that I start to remember the funny stories. When we were recording we had a rehearsal space we called Pumpkinland. [Album co-producer] Flood wanted to record Mellon Collie in there, which really surprised us. He liked the way we played in there. He thought we would be more comfortable. We're working in there and I think [co-producer] Alan Moulder and I were in the other room, and all of a sudden one of the pipes burst. And suddenly, this massive amount of water is coming out of the floor and was flooding the entire floor. We were trying to throw all the equipment in a corner where it hadn't flooded. We're all laughing 'cause it's so absurd. But meanwhile there's gallons of water coming out of this pipe and you don't know when it's going to stop. You remember these funny little memories when you listen.

фигней страдает Лысый, лучше бы dvd Metro 2000 выпустил, а так получим Billy's belly in 3D, wow. Ну и с массовкой лол конечно же, раньше такого не было, да и вообще зал был чуть более полон, чем наполовину, судя по отзывам посетивших данное шоу
