че-то меня бонус-диски не сильно впечатлили. ваще не понимаю, по какому они принципу построены. какой-то несвязный набор треков. даже из того, что нам давно известно, я бы сделал куда интересней подборку.

Отслушал оба бонусных CD.
На первом ничего интересного для себя не обнаружил. Особенно ожидались миксы от Брауна например вот этот Starla (2011 Mix). Я в нем ничего вообще нового не услышал, зато Браун в интервью утверждал что на Pisces Iscariot эта песня чуть ли не на уровни демки и он из нее делает песню для переиздания. Бред все это, как и его другие миксы. И что самое интересное что следующий то ремастер будет как раз Pisces Iscariot и там опять таже старла будет, которая наверно ничем не будет отличаться от этой Starla (2011 Mix), какой смысл!!??
Второй диск поитереснее конешно. Больше всего понравились эти треки Siamese Dream (Broadway Rehearsals Demo), U.S.A. , U.S.S.R., Soma (Instrumental Mix).
В общем лысый как обычно наприувеличивал когда говорил о тоннах интересного материала.

На демоноиде эта 5 гиговая раздача из .wav, смотрю, состоит. Я что-то уже и забыл, для чего такой стандарт, это можно на сд записать обыкновенный? ПРосто я пару раз СД писал, там образ диска был и .cue файл. Это те же яйца, только в профиль?

У меня была Креатив не встроенная, тысячи за две покупал, погорела, блин :(( А с чего это рип, с SACD какого-нибудь или ДВД-Аудио? Ну да ладно, я всё равно разницы не слышу по сравнению с МП3 320 кбит/с. Пытался заниматься самообманом, купил колонки за 15 штук, пару дисков, но нет, себя обманывать бессмысленно :/

ну, просто Корган опять пытается угодить среднестатистическому слушателю, не очень хорошо знакомому с неизданным материалом Тыкв. а мы-то с вами уже многое слышали: и QAOS, и Картошку и всякое другое. нам бы хренового качества демок каких-нибудь неизвестных нам песен или просто инструментальных набросков. нахрена нам вот инструментал Сомы и все такое?

Кстати лошара Браун какие-то посиделки с фанатами устраивал постоянно во время Тыквенных гастролей по США и что то с ними там обсуждал по поводу бонусных дисков неужели из фанатов никто не возмущался что нет новых треков. Вот Зигги бы туда и в то время!!! он бы им там всем по лысине настучал ))))
вот уж какому альбому ремастер нормальный был просто необходим
у меня ремастированный Гиш, издание 2002 года, разницы в звучании абсолютно никакой нет

лучше расскажи нам, великий специалист, как ты слушал ремастированный Гиш в формате mp3, с неважнецким битрейтом, и определял для себя отличия в звучании оригинальной записи и этого дерьмового сжатого формата, ахахахаха)

Гиш-концерт, конечно, заснят и записан довольно посредственно, но как документ эпохи безусловно катит. особо доставляет бонусная репетиционная видеозапись акустической версии Краш у Коргана дома. я б даже предпочел, чтоб они именно такие видеозаписи влючили на двд вместо концерта.
СД-концерт - в отличном качестве, но я его уже, например, видел, правда, не полностью.
ещё в коробках: фото и арт карточки и очень информативные буклеты.

чёрт, прощальный концерт в Метро 2000 так и будоражит моё созние уже с десяток лет, если с переизданием обеих Машин его не зарелизят, то это будет конечно плохо

For some Smashing Pumpkins fans disappointed by the handling of their orders for the Gish and Siamese Dream reissues last year, a measure of recompense is arriving in the form of a limited-edition flexidisc created by the band.
Fans who ordered physical formats of either reissue through SmashingPumpkins.com did not receive their orders, in many cases, until three or four weeks after the November 29 release date. At the time, a representative for Pumpkins vendor Topspin Media claimed that his company “had absolutely no control over these delays” and that “not enough were manufactured,” passing the buck to BandMerch, a company that was contracted to do the order fulfillment.
Complaints were numerous, and on December 8 an administrator of the official Smashing Pumpkins messageboard posted a note from the Smashing Pumpkins Record Club promising a special gift to those fans who had preordered before November 29. A little over a week ago, an email was sent out with instructions on how to request the free flexidisc. Shipments of the disc began this week, and a few fans have already received theirs.
The record contains one track: “Blissed”, a previously unreleased song that missed the cut for the reissues but does come across like a Gish-era composition.
The flexidisc itself is a translucent orange in color and is embellished with a hand-drawn Billy Corgan design in silver foil. Though hard to read, the design contains the song title printed at bottom left beside an abstract flowery design. The disc was produced by Pirates Press, a boutique music media company based in San Francisco.
Matt Jones of Pirates Press told Crestfallen.com that 5,000 copies were pressed.

интересно, Аэроплан Переизданный в такой же коробке будет или нет? оформление просто отличное ведь, надеюсь, таким и оставят его, хотя будут (скорее всего) reimaginated covers, как в случае с Gish, SD и PI

да, неоднократно, все прекрасно работает и доставляется из самых разных стран, последнее, что брал: Lustmord, Massive Attack, Fun>Da>Mental, все пришло, никто не кинул, правда сроки ожидания чуть дольше, чем на амазоне, но опять же - все зависит от выбранного тобой способа доставки

This track comes as a most welcomed surprise to start of the Special Tea disc. It is an extended and alternative mix of the music you hear right at the end of thru the eyes of ruby. It has a spacey feel to it that you could listen to all night long as you gazed into a starry sky. The track is a short 1 minute and 15 seconds long.

I’ll give you a perfect example: there’s a 53-minute concert that was edited from 3-hour-plus concert from London. The record company lost the tapes. We were going to go back and put out the entire 3-hour concert and the record company lost the tapes. They couldn’t find the tapes anywhere. They might be misplaced or mislabeled, but we spent six months looking for these tapes because we wanted to put out a complete ‘Mellon Collie’ live show, because it was about a 3 hour live show, acoustic/electric, and we can’t find the tapes anywhere. So we only have this edited-for-TV 53-minute version that was produced at the time.
We’re four or five regime changes at EMI/Virgin from who used to be there, so you can’t find anybody who remembers anything. When we started searching in the archives for stuff relating to Pumpkins, all the Pumpkins stuff was filed under ‘B’ for ‘Billy Corgan.’ So routinely, somebody would come back and say, ‘sorry, we don’t have that tape.’ We would have to beg people to go down and hand search. We found stuff late, we found stuff mislabeled, some stuff is supposed to be here and it’s there. We have some stuff we shouldn’t have, they have some stuff that we should have. It’s been very arduous to go through everything.
So it’s very satisfying to put together a cool little window into what it would have been like to be part of the working team for ‘Mellon Collie’ at the time. It’s what you would have heard if you were behind the scenes – this demo, this live take of a song, this rough mix that puts the guitars in a different context — just different contexts to hear the music in. I think it’s exciting. With these reissues I’ve just tried to create windows into how the albums were made, and what was laying around around the albums, so you get the sense of the culture of that particular period. I’ve been really excited to do it and fans have really appreciated the journey, so I’m happy to do it.
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (Deluxe Edition)
Despite the frequency of both its adolescent bluster and heavy-handed angst, there's no denying that Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is the work of a fully matured band. Down to its most diminutive detail, the album revels in the kind of art-rock pageantry that the Smashing Pumpkins were only fumbling toward on Gish and Siamese Dream: elaborate, symmetry-obsessed musical conceits, a romantic mythos inspired by everything from arcane astrology to Mother Goose fairy tales, and numerous poetic and visual allusions to Victorian-era culture, all coinciding with the band's baroque expansion away from their grungy Sub Pop origins. On paper, it reads like a mess, but the near-mystical and sprawling Mellon Collie remains the Pumpkins' greatest album, the soaring vision of a band clearly in its prime.

все же бокс громаден очень, как винил прям. Надеюсь, что переиздание Machina выйдет в таких же габаритах, картины Кафанова должны быть огромны, как на виниловом издании 2000 года, очень хотелось бы именно подобного формата

ну да, я только за=) просто в Машине на картинах много мелких деталей, которые интересно разглядывать, а в Adore просто ч/б фотки. Вообще, надо было все альбомы переиздавать в таком гигантском формате, и Гиш, и Мечту, и Искариот, было бы еще круче)
ну что, кому DVD надо? думаю, что Корган не обеднеет из-за этого=) всех с рождеством!!

SMASHING PUMPKINS GIVE UPDATE ON THEIR ALBUM RE-RELEASES
Crestfallen is reporting that the Smashing Pumpkins have released an updated on the reissues of their classic albums. According to the site the box art for The Aeroplane Flies High is currently being worked on and B sides from the album have already been mixed and selected. Tapes from Adore and Machina are also being prepared for the reissue process.

As part of the continuing series of reissues of THE SMASHING PUMPKINS’ acclaimed catalog via Virgin/UMe, the iconic alternative band is set to release four separate versions, all fully remastered, of their platinum-selling 1996 box set THE AEROPLANE FLIES HIGH: 6-CD +1 DVD; 5-LPs and Deluxe Digital and Standard Digital editions. The CD/DVD, 5-LP version and digital configurations will be released July 23.
The original THE AEROPLANE FLIES HIGH was a five-disc box set that featured expanded versions of singles from their acclaimed 1995 double album MELLON COLLIE & THE INFINITE SADNESS, including “Bullet With Butterfly Wings,” “1979,” “Zero” “Tonight, Tonight” and “Thirty-Three.” MELLON COLLIE achieved Diamond certification by the RIAA for sales of 10,000,000 discs and digital equivalent per disc (5 million copies of the double album).
These new limited edition box sets of THE AEROPLANE FLIES HIGH feature the original 33 track version—remastered by Bob Ludwig—and expanded to 104 tracks (90 audio and 14 audio-visual) encompassing unreleased demos, alternative versions and live recordings. In addition to expanded versions of Aeroplane’s original 5 discs, a 6th disc contains live recordings from the 1996 Mellon Collie tour, while the DVD content is taken from a July, 4 1997, performance in Belfort, France. Included is a 46-page book with liner notes written by David Wild, plus extensive track-by-track notes by The Smashing Pumpkins founder-singer-songwriter-guitarist Billy Corgan — for the original release’s 33 tracks. The box set has unique packaging with embossed foil wrap & twinkle stock for jackets.
As David Wild writes, “The Aeroplane Flies High is a trip, and perhaps fittingly for Billy Corgan, it was an exciting, exhausting and scary one that reveals a lot about the Smashing Pumpkins at this point in their musical journey.”

“What I like about The Aeroplane Flies High is that it’s almost the existential backwater of the Mellon Collie album,” Corgan says today. “Listening to the music gathered here is a little bit like seeing what goes on behind the walls of Disneyland. I’ve always been fascinated with places that are very well constructed, and finding out what’s really going on just over the fence. You look over that gate and notice that things on the other side are not well painted—or maybe you spot that guy dressed as some character sneaking a smoke on his break. At least for me, the behind the scenes feel heard on The Aeroplane Flies High represents something revealing not found on the main album. In retrospect, it’s a nice document of how we arrived at the apex of Mellon Collie—and also what standing on that apex did to us personally.”

Let’s can the mock suspense and acknowledge the absurdity of this rerelease as a starting point rather than a conclusion. The Aeroplane Flies High is not a beloved obscurity, nor is it a canonical album celebrating a milestone anniversary. It’s not even an album: it’s a widely available, 16-year old collection of B-sides from a double album.

релиз говно - звук, как всегда, испорчен и запорот, так же, как и на Pisces Iscariot. И составлено все абсолютно вразнобой и по-идиотски. Диск #6 - лучший. Остальное - средней паршивости, в том плане, что абсолютно не ясно, по какому принципу напиханы эти несчастные бонус-треки. Половина Billy's Gravity Demos (1994) на одном диске, на другом половина Double Door шоу, зачем? Проще и интереснее было бы выпустить все бонусы, предназначенные для данного переиздания, отдельными дисками, а оригинальные синглы оставить так, как они выходили в боксе 1996 года. Например, Грэвити демоз собрать полностью, а на другой диск - Дабл Дор, рихерзалз+живой концерт, как вариант. А так - сделано как будто наспех, второпях, слеплено на скорую руку словно. Хотя могли бы более тщательно и продуманно подойти к этому вопросу. Но, увы, имеем то, что имеем в конечном результате.
Дальше, зачем, например, было менять вокальный трек Д'Арси в песне "Dreaming"? Старый вариант звучит гораздо лучше, чем этот, новый. Ремастер это одно, понимаю, но вот менять полностью голосовую дорожку - это мне не совсем ясно. Так же, как и было с "Plume" на переиздании Pisces Iscariot. Вроде мелочи, а на слух в глаза бросаются.

мне из всех переизданий больше всего понравился бонус диск к PI, вот он действительно составлен с умом и его приятно переслушивать. Всё остальное действительно наспех составлено. Ziggy Pop пишет:

возможно кому-то будет интересно: продам два коллекционных переиздания Gish и Siamese dream [Deluxe Edition] (2011) Диски запечатаны и содержат в себе буклеты, dvd и другие бонусы коллекционных изданий. Цена: 1000 за каждый. Желательно в Москве, или отправка почтой в другой город.
