Recorded in late 2010, these are some of, if not, the last recordings of Moebius drawing that we are likely to see. Росписи художника Карлито Дальседжио украшают дома в Париже, Монреале, Торонто, а теперь и будет во Владивостоке. 10 лет Карлито работал со знаменитым канадским «Цирком солнца» (Cirque du Soleil). Сейчас в Стамбуле проходит его персональная выставка. Работы Дальседжио расположились на шести этажах выставочного центра.

With at least 50 artists contributing, there is going to be quite a bit of new art to take in. So far, there seems to be quite a diverse interpretation of the theme, which should make for a very interesting show. I am particularly interested to see Marie Bergeron’s Apocalypse Now piece in person. J.P. Valderrama has two new Akira pieces, one for Kaneda and the other for Tetsuo, which are sure to be fan favorites.

"In the wee morning hours on the first day of 2013 I got an idea for the title of my next solo show of original paintings: EGO DEATH. The EGO DEATH title came with another great idea: What if I presented the show like a funeral? You know, decorate the gallery like a traditional Gothic funeral―with Lillies, wreaths, a hearse and even a coffin―a funeral for our collective ego..
The concept really got my mind going! Not only was this a visually exciting idea, it also said something that I have been wanting to say with my artwork for years: perhaps it is finally time to lay the ego to rest. Maybe the same ego that was instrumental in bringing us to this stage in human evolution has outlived its usefulness, and has become the problem. What better way to symbolically lay the ego to rest than a mock funeral?
I have long been toying with the idea that my paintings are, and have always been, representations of our collective ego. Maybe this is why I have not only been painting monsters but I have been painting monsters with pathos.The paintings are portraits of ourselves, the parts of us that we are often afraid to look at. The parts of us that are vulnerable and wounded. They are the parts of us that are in pain."

Ян Шванкмайер, художник сюрреалистического направления, исследует социальную среду и внутренний мир человека через подсознательные образы: часто именно темные, пугающие стороны нашего существования составляют основной сюжет его работ. Художественная практика Шванкмайера не ограничивается рамками кинематографа - наряду с полнометражными фильмами и анимацией, он создает скульптуру, графику, коллаж и «поэзию жеста». В своих работах он часто использует такие природные компоненты, как скелеты животных, камни, ископаемые остатки организмов и сухие растения.
Выставка Яна Шванкмайера в Центре современной культуры «Гараж» раскроет зрителям все многообразие его творчества. Представленные артефакты объединит идея кунсткамеры – эклектичного собрания удивительных, аномальных предметов, созданных природой или человеком. Возникнув в XVI веке, кабинеты курьезов олицетворяли поток нового знания и объединяли в себе объекты, категориальную принадлежность которых было трудно определить. Кунсткамера воспринималась как своеобразная арена, где соревнуется искусство и природа.
Артефакты, а также короткометражные фильмы художника будут экспонированы в специально выстроенной масштабной архитектурной инсталляции, напоминающей провинциальный музей. Необычность интерьеров мифического здания позволит зрителям полностью погрузиться в атмосферу фантасмагории, присущей искусству Яна Шванкмайера.
If you are interested in seeing comics taken to their outer limits, the world of Charles Burns is the place for you. “The Hive” is the current installment in Mr. Burn’s work. He’s an artist, at the top of his game, not to be taken for granted. If there was a Mount Rushmore dedicated to comics, there he’d be, alongside Chris Ware, Daniel Clowes and Art Spiegelman, who all happen to be published by Pantheon. Once you put the awe aside, the story and art of “The Hive” sweep you away. This is a story within a story, life imitating art and vice versa, the innocuous mixed in with the surreal. In some respects, it is an even more enigmatic work than the previous, “X’ed Out.”
As in “X’ed Out,” we have Doug, the cocky provocateur performance artist compared to his doppelganger in a world stranger and more surreal than anything his art could imply. In “The Hive,” we add to that same young Doug, his older despondent self full of regret, full of his own well-earned horrific nightmares. Doug, you once surly youth, searching for pain, you have arrived.
Meanwhile, we follow Doug’s cartoon version as he toils away at a menial job in The Hive, a place run by lizards that appears to be breeding humans. Ultimately, Doug’s own personal misery pales in comparison to whatever is going on in that evil alternate world. The conclusion to this trilogy is entitled, “Sugar Skull,” and will surely be something to look forward to. Given that “X’ed Out” was published in 2010 and “The Hive” was published in 2012, we can expect “Sugar Skull” to come out in 2014.

С 14.00 до 20.00 часов Ямамото Редзи экспромтом будет писать тушью иероглифы, отражающие душу зрителя. Улица – это пространство, наполненное волшебной людской энергией, и здесь может произойти что-то очень интересное. Автор призывает: давайте путешествовать вместе к незнакомому миру от знакомой улицы.
Также перфоманс Ямамото Резди пройдет на набережной Цесаревича 30 августа с 14.00 до 20.00 часов.
СПРАВКА: Ямамото Резди — уличный художник каллиграфии, известный также как KODAMAYA, что означает душевный поэт. Как правило, художник рисует тушью на улице (используя иногда бумагу до 5х2 м) под музыку и дополняет работу стихами, сочиненными в ходе работы. В стихах и каллиграфии Ямамото старается отразить состояние души каждого проходящего по улице человека. Он выработал свой оригинальный стиль, как отметил художник, он получает удовольствие от работы, его трогают улыбки и слезы радости людей.

Жду весны 2014 в общем, надеюсь, "Сахарный Череп" расставит все на свои места, а то пока что вопросов больше чем ответов по ходу повествования возникло. Фантазия автора поражает. Inky The Cat - любимый персонаж пожалуй, хоть его/ее там и мало очень. Это не важно. Адский трип в подсознание. Ну и 23 снова там.
В ГМИИ имени Пушкина в 2014 году пройдет выставка знаменитого английского художника Фрэнсиса Бэкона. Экспозиция будет приурочена к году Великобритании в России.
