In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell talked about his ambitious plans for Jane’s Addiction’s next album. He said in recent weeks he has written 60 songs and that he hasn’t been this prolific as a songwriter since he was in his 20′s. Farrell has described the songs as “a nightmare, a fairy tale, all mixed in one.” He said that he has decided to write songs from a fresh angle for this album. He had originally considered continuing to write about themes of escapism like he did on The Great Escape Artist, but he claims, “It didn’t make a big enough splash. If it would have made a bigger splash I would have continued [its themes].”
Farrell said that he plans on continuing to map out the record in as early as January, and he expects the ideas to really jell and come together by this time next year.

Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell has told Billboard that Jane’s Addiction’s currently in the works fifth studio album could be the band’s greatest achievement.
“The next album is going to be something that the world has never experienced,” he tells Billboard, “I’m building it simultaneously with the live show in mind and it’s just going to be out of sight!”
Farrell also said Jane’s Addiction’s live shows could be 2 and a half hour events, “It’s going to be theatrical and we’re going to take it to another level. I want to really give you a new experience. I want you to feel like you’ve never seen it or experienced anything like it.”

Сделав порез на лбу, Dave собрал кровь в винный бокал, чтобы рисовать ей вместо красок. Он уже не первый раз практиковал подобное. Ранее, Navarro был подвешен на крюках за спину, впрочем, он продолжает заниматься этим до сих пор. Кроме того, недавно Dave сделал себе шрамирование.

PERRY FARRELL SAYS ERIC AVERY BLOCKED JANE’S ADDICTION FROM RELEASING SONGS RECORDED WITH TRENT REZNOR
In a new interview with Jay Mohr, Perry Farrell claimed that former Jane’s Addiction bassist Eric Avery blocked Jane’s Addiction from releasing the two songs they recorded with Trent Reznor producing in 2009: Embrace The Darkness and I’ll Protect You.
Farrell said, “There have been Jane’s Addiction songs that were really good that they didn’t want to do at all. I have two of them right now in the can.” He described the conflict he had with Avery during the Reznor sessions, “It’s not even the lyrics, [Eric Avery and I] got into an argument about parts. A particular chord. As far as I’m concerned, the way it goes with music today, how easy it is to record music, try it. Don’t sit there like [in a baby voice] “Oh I don’t know I don’t want to because that’s not what I, I wouldn’t.” Look man why don’t we do this? Give me 5 minutes, have a little confidence. If we don’t like it [fine], but give me a chance here let me try it.”
Farrell added, “At the end [Eric Avery] didn’t enjoy that I would say, “Hey can we try this chord? I hear this one chord.” He would get all huffy, like he didn’t want to try it. The song got recorded anyways, Trent Reznor recorded them actually, so it would have been fuckin awesome. But he vetoed it and wouldn’t let the songs out.”
