The Foo Fighters headlined the final night of the Reading festival in Reading, England last night in which the band preformed a 26 song, two and a half hour set. It was also vastly different then the one that was preformed in Leeds, England for the Leeds Festival on the 24th.
During the show front man Dave Grohl spoke to the crowd, dedicating “These Days” to his prior Nirvana band mates, Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic, in which he told the audience before the played the hit song “I’d like to dedicate this song to a couple of people who couldn’t be here tonight. This one’s for Krist and this one’s for Kurt.”
However that was arguably not the biggest turn of events during the performance.
Earlier on in the set he said the following: “Well, well, well. The fucking Reading festival. You guys realize we’ve got a lot of songs to play. It’s the last show of the tour and it’s the last show for a long time.”

According to Dave Grohl, he considered interviewing serial killer Charles Manson for his new Sound City documentary film. Grohl told Deadline.com, “Manson recorded at Sound City and at one point we considered talking to him about music because how fucking insane would that be. But we decided not to because we didn’t want it to take over the beautiful message of the movie — but we considered it.”
Manson recorded some demos in the 60′s at Sound City before he and his cult’s killing spree, which culminated in the murder of pregnant actress Sharon Tate and her friends on August 9, 1969. Trent Reznor infamously lived in the house of the Tate murder for 18 months while writing and recording Nine Inch Nails’ iconic 1994 album The Downward Spiral.

According to Realtor.com, Former Nirvana drummer/Foo Fighter frontman Dave Grohl is selling his beachfront home in Oxnard, California for $3.25 million. Grohl purchased the home in 2007 for rough $3.75 million. The home features a home theater and chef’s kitchen. For those wondering, this is not the house featuring the garage where Foo Fighters recorded Wasting Light. Below are more photos of the home.

While the rest of the music world was busy at Glastonbury, Dave Grohl joined Chevy Metal – the side-project of Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins and Chris Shiflett – to play a set of classic rock at Costa Mesa Fairgrounds in southern California.
Chevy Metal’s set featured covers of Van Halen’s ‘Panama’, The Knacks’ ‘My Sharona’, The Vapors’ ‘Turning Japanese’, as well as Rolling Stones, Queen and Faces covers. Grohl and co were performing as part of Costa Mesa City’s 60th anniversary celebrations on a lineup that also featured sets from Wanda Jackson, Eric Burdon and The Animals, and Berlin (‘Take My Breath Away’). The party also featured a performance from the All American Boys Choir, fireworks, and a sandwich-eating contest, which Grohl inexplicably didn’t win.
When not goofing off and pretending to be a wedding band, Grohl is busy working on a new Foo Fighters record, the follow-up to 2011’s Wasting Light. Foos drummer Taylor Hawkins announced last week that “Dave has his brain working overtime, like usual, and he’s got a lot of great ideas, both musically and conceptually – none that I can speak of at this moment, but it’s gonna be great. It’s gonna be cool.”
Recently, Chris Shiflett of Foo Fighters spoke with FasterLouder regarding the upcoming Foo Fighters album. Shiflett claims, “we haven’t officially started, but we’re getting underway soon.” He is also quoted saying that the material and ideas so far are “pretty fucking fun.”
