Dave Grohl gave an update on Foo Fighters’ new album in a recent interview with Rolling Stone:

“It’s badass. We’re doing something that nobody knows about, it’s fucking rad. We begin recording soon, but we’re doing it in a way that no one’s done before and we’re writing the album in a way that I don’t think has been done before.”

Dave Grohl will have a busy year in 2014, with the Foo Fighters planning to release their 8th studio album in the spring and Nirvana likely to receive Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honors. Foo Fighters entered to studio with producer Butch Vig over the summer to produce the new album. Grohl has previously worked with Vig on Nirvana’s Nevermind, Foo Fighters’ Wasting Light, and the Sound City soundtrack.
