Группа возникла в 1993, когда три друга — Майкл, Джон и Клинт, собираясь вместе, импровизировали на гитарах для собственного удовольствия. В то время никто из них еще не умел играть по-настоящему. Постепенно у трио стало складываться собственное лицо, и друзей стали приглашать в небольшие клубы. В это время у группы появилось и название, предложенное Клинтом: слово bardo, обозначающее «между двумя», он взял из тибетской «Книги Мертвых», а pond (море, океан) добавил для благозвучия.

Группа играет не от мира сего психоделическую пространственно-визуальную музыку, легко уносящую слушателя в мир текучей и сонной, высокохудожественно дистортированной аудиоэротики. Зыбучие пески из буйных текстур завывающих гитарных гармоний, резинового напряжения и молочной коррозии команды реально могут засосать в себя всякого меломана, не равнодушного к творчеству таких нестандартных коллективов, как FLYING SOUCER ATTACK, DEAD C, ранние PINK FLOYD
